About iGreener

Grow your English by using it

iGreener is a small online English school with one idea: you improve fastest when class time is spent using English, not listening to explanations. Short videos teach the rules before class; the live sessions on Zoom are for speaking, writing and fixing real mistakes with feedback.

Your teacher

Meet your teacher: Nam (Đặng Phương Nam)

Nam teaches every iGreener class himself, live from the Gold Coast, Australia, where he is training to become a secondary school teacher.

  • IELTS 8.0 · all skills 7.0+
  • 3+ years teaching English
  • Bachelor of English Language, Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (Học viện Ngoại giao), Excellent
  • Master of Teaching (Secondary), Southern Cross University
  • Published researcher in language teaching

Nam graduated from the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (Học viện Ngoại giao) with a Bachelor of English Language, classified Excellent, among the top 5% of his year in the English Faculty. He is now studying for a Master of Teaching (Secondary) at Southern Cross University in Australia. In 2026 he was also offered a full tuition-fee scholarship for a master's degree at the University of Messina in Italy.

His research looks at how AI can help language learners practise more effectively. As first author, he published a study on AI-generated speech in interpreting training in the VNU Journal of Foreign Studies (2025) and presented it at the Asian Conference on Education in Tokyo. The same idea runs through iGreener: technology handles the repetition, so class time goes to real communication.

Nam has taught English since early 2023. He began as an online ESL teacher with Marathon Education, teaching all four skills with monthly tests and progress tracking. In 2024 he led a four-skill IELTS course at FPT High School (Hoa Lac campus), adapting the syllabus to his students' levels and reporting on their progress regularly. From 2025 to 2026 he volunteered with Vietnam and Friends, teaching visually impaired students with adapted lessons and Braille materials. He has also used English at work as an interpreter, tour guide and intern at the Goethe-Institut, Orbis International and the ASEAN Future Forum, and he brings these real situations into every lesson.

“I teach the way I learned best: by using English for real things. Small classes, clear feedback, and a plan you can keep using after the course ends.”

Why "iGreener"?

  • Greenis the colour of growth: something young, alive and still growing.
  • -ermeans "more". Greener means a little more each week: more confident, more capable, more grown-up in how you use English. You measure yourself against who you were last week, not against anyone else.
  • iis you. Your growth, at your own pace, in English that works for real life and international exams.
  • In English, "green" also describes someone who is new to something. Everyone starts green. The goal is not to stop being green; it is to keep growing. That is why our hashtag is #GrowInEnglish.

How we teach

  • Small classes. Never more than 8 learners, so everyone speaks every session.
  • Measured progress. Everyone is placed by a test and checked again in weeks 1, 6 and 12.
  • Research-based habits. Retrieval practice, spaced review, feedback you act on, and pronunciation for being understood.
  • English first. All materials and tasks are in English; Nam explains in Vietnamese when that helps.
  • Learning to learn. The goal is that you can keep improving on your own after the course.
